Young Environmental Consulting Group is the realization of a lifelong dream for owner and principal scientist, Della Schall Young. That dream first took root during Della’s childhood visits to her grandmother in the West African nation of Liberia. Living in the country's interior, water had to be hand-drawn from a well and carefully purified. Watching the energy-intensive process required to secure clean, drinkable water sparked Della’s profound, lifelong passion for water resources.
Years later, living within Minnesota’s majestic Mississippi River watershed further shaped that vision. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Mississippi and Minnesota treasures like the Boundary Waters, Della dedicated her life to managing natural resources effectively for communities everywhere.
